Our interpretation of an American Pale Ale with some of the fruitiest, juiciest hops we could find including Simcoe, Mosaic, and Motueka. With big notes of stone fruit and tropical fruits on the nose, Pale Dutch Boy is a beer that's all hop flavor with very little bitterness supported by a soft, pillowy body thanks to a substantial amount of flaked oats and wheat in the grist.

Pours a cloudy peach color with white head that dissipates leaving a ring around the rim of the glass and a small amount of lacing.
Strong but delicate fruit aroma of peach, pineapple, mango, grapefruit.
Taste is oats, wheat, then a one-note, bland fruit cocktail flavor, and bit of earthy grass and flowers. A slight bitterness on the finish.
Feel is like light spritzer with an almost graininess, and dry.
Overall uninteresting, but easy drinking for a pale ale.

A pint can from a four pack dated 01/03/18 poured in a Windmill stemmed glass.
Look- Pours a hazy dark orange leaving behind a few centimeters of soapy white foam. Some moderate lacing is also present.
Smell- A cornucopia of pineapple, orange, mango and floral. A whiff of herbal spice in the back.
Taste- Succulent pineapple and orange along with mango, passionfruit, floral notes. A tropical liquid fruit salad.
Feel- Soft up front with a slightly bitter and dry finish.
Overall- I missed the first batch, so I haven't a clue on how this advertised hazy second batch compares? The rather low rating here doesn't equate to what I'm tasting, so this batch must have been tweaked and improved. I make frequent trips to Michigan for Transient and Old Nation haze and this is every bit as good in my opinion. I'd love to see this year round!

Appearance - From the growler, the beer poured golden yellow with a white head.
Smell - The hop nose is slightly bitter, but not overly abrasive.
Taste - The ale begins with a pleasantly sweet hos presence. The malt backbone contributes to the sweetness. There is a slight citric bitterness, but overall this is well balanced.
Mouthfeel- Carbonation is not to be appropriate for the style lending to a clean finish.
Overall- This little brewery in Dyer is doing some things right.
