A pint can with no date that was released yesterday (07/29/17) at the brewery. Pouring it into a 12oz. tulip for the review.
Look- Pours a cloudy orange juice color generating two fingers of frothy white foam that slowly settles revealing some moderate lacing. Tiny carbonation bubbles can be seen surfacing.
Smell- Floral esters, bubblegum, pepper and mild citrus.
Taste- Floral notes up front along with bubblegum, peppery spice and grapefruit.
Feel- Slightly acidic and bitter with a dry finish.
Overall- I had two glasses on tap at the brewery and felt like I could have drank the keg dry. I was blown away by how great it was. This canned version tastes completely different and I'm wondering if I'm drinking the same beer? While it's still pretty good, it tastes completely different from the easy drinking juice bomb I had yesterday. There is a Belgian IPA quality to this that is unmistakable. I realize draft and packaged beer can sometimes differ, but this is a totally different animal that has me wondering if I was served the correct beer yesterday? The server was less than attentive and not very knowledgeable about the beer. That observation aside it's a good beer, but probably a half point below what I had on tap. I'll be curious to see if this conditions with time into more of what I enjoyed.
