Enjoyed on draft at the Windmill facility. A bit lighter than many scotch ales, with little head and no lacing. Not "dark" in the sense of presenting intense malts, either, but Knox has good oak character from the barrel and a nice brown sugar sweetness. Pleasingly full-bodied and smooth. A nice introduction to Windmill's nascent barrel program.
