Appearance - On tap, the beer poured a murky black color with a dark tan head.
Smell - The nose smelled like fresh cider, pressed in the fall. It amazed me how fresh the apples smelled.
Taste - The initial taste was very maple forward, though it was not cloying or overly sweet. The apple was then allowed to shine with any suggestion of artificiality. The maple apple profile stayed strong through the aftertaste.
Mouthfeel - Overall, the beer was very full-bodied. It allowed the profile to linger.
Overall - The beer was fantastic. Windmill has a great apple stout game.
