Cut from the cloth that makes America great, the Monnik brewers have restored the American pilsner to its original form. A Bohemian-style Czech flavor that's full of juicy malts and a body to support its spicy hopping rate.
Hauck's pours with a kellerbier type of haze, capturing the full aroma and breadth of taste that provides a slightly perfumy and herbal introduction and a rich, bready initial taste and texture. While notions of honeysuckle and fresh-cut grass come to mind, the lager begins to develop it full taste.
Remaining plump and medium-full on the palate, the estery side of the beer opens with suggestions of apple, lemon and melon ahead of the spicy rebuttal from hops. Spicy and grassy late, the beer's straw and grain flavors mingle with tepid sulfurs for a pleasant scrubbing action before the beer's finish.
Medium-light in finish, the malts fade but leave supple sweetness and creaminess behind in support of the bitter hops and their minty, spicy linger. Hauck's is a firm workman's lager that beats the thirst any day of the year.
