Must have been a bad bottle. Beer had a rotten cabbage smell, and was slightly tangy.

500 ml bottle, bottle #366/473. I'm pretty sure this was released around New Year's Day 2018, purchased at Monnik about a month ago. Guess this is from their 2nd annual release of this bourbon barrel aged brew. Served in a Monnik snifter, the beer pours a murky dark brown color with aobut a quarter inch tan head that fizzled away quickly. Not much lacing at all. Aroma is nice and sweet, the brew smells like caramel, vanilla, brown sugar, dark fruit (raisins, figs), and some bourbon. Taste is similar to the aroma, with caramel, brown sugar, nutty, raisin, fig, bourbon, vanilla, black cherry and earthy flavors. Mainly sweet but with some bitter woodiness in the finish. The bourbon character in the aroma and taste is noticeable but not strong. Mouthfeel/body is medium/full, it's a bit slick and syrupy with a moderate amount of carbonation. I thought this was a pretty good overall brew, glad I picked this one up!
