poured from a 12oz brown bottle – Limited Release 2020 – best by 33222 [11/28/2022]
Ommegang Chardonnale Ale 1½ finger white foamy head sat atop of a clear and clean golden colored body. Small carbonation bubbles rushed to the top. The nose is fresh, of white grape, light fruit [i.e., pear] and a little pepper in the background. The taste follows the nose with a stronger flavor of the chardonnay grape and is a little sweet. The ale is medium bodied with active carbonation. A light alcohol warming at the finish is present.
Overall, Chardonnale is a very drinkable ale that is flavorful and refreshing. My guess is if you like chardonnay wine you will like this ale.

Look: It pours golden and bubbly like champagne. There is a bit of haze. It has a white head with good head retention.
Smell: It has a strong peppery aroma with a bit of perfume in the background. There is a hint of fruit which is hard to pin point. There is a bit of grainy sweetness in the background.
Taste: There are some orange and pepper flavors up front with a bit of grainy sweetness. It has a slight spicy character. There is also a low level of pear. There are some wood elements with a hint of grape.
Feel: It has a medium body that is very bubbly.
Overall, an easy drinking beer in spite of the high alcohol level.
