Presentation: This beer was enjoyed at Brewery Ommegang during the "Waffles and Puppets" fest. It was served from tap only, and poured into a clear Plastic Duvel/Ommegang cup.
Appearance: It had a deep cloudy orange amber colored body with a one finger thick, off white head on top. The head had very good retention and made nice lacing on the glass.
Smell: Its aroma was full of wonderful spices, pale and lightly toasted malt.
Taste: The flavor had wonderful layers of tasty spices. Clove, sour dried orange peel, ginger, green peppercorn and coriander were some of the spicy notes I tasted. This was mixed well with pale dry malt. The finish was dry, snappy and left mild spicy notes on the palate. The body had a good solid medium to full feel with a nice balanced carbonation.
Notes: This was a very interesting beer and definatly my favorite of the fest!!! I hope this one shows up again. It was Exceptional!!!
