Rare Vos Amber Ale is styled after the smooth, drinkable beers popular in Belgian cafés. It pours a light copper hue, contrasting beautifully with a big, creamy white head. The nose offers orange blossoms and slight spice.
On the palate, the caramel maltiness shines strongly but with little sweetness. The profile leans toward dry fruity (yeast-affiliated), slightly fruity/hoppy with a beguiling spiciness. This complex, medium-bodied beer has a smooth mid-palate and moderate dry finish.
Well-balanced in all elements, it's a mild, mellow brew.

Slightly cloudy amber, big, off-white head, great retention, slippery bands of lacing
Citrus, ginger, pepper, and clove spiciness, some banana, sweet malt aroma underneath
Tastes like it smells, with the grains of paradise, coriander, and orange peel leading the way
Fairly light bodied, well carbonated
I really dig this.

Pours a deep copper-amber color with a fluffy off-white head. Slight haze but mostly clear in the glass.
Smell opens with a warm mix of orange, malt and subtle spice. Develops into clove, a smidge of pepper, and a just a hint of some floral hops. Very balanced with no overpowering notes.
Flavor is well-rounded with caramel malt and toasted bread as the base, quickly followed by a subtle fruitiness. As expected, the Belgian yeast adds a nice earthy depth with spice and banana notes. Sits nicely on the palate with slightly sweet citrus & spice to keep you coming back for that next sip!
Sits in the perfect sweet spot for carbonation, feeling smooth yet still crisp.
Would definitely recommend a try if you haven't already!

A pint can pours a translucent amber with a light tan head and random lacing.
Caramel malt and spice on the nose and tongue, a pleasant coriander, clove, grains of paradise and white pepper dominate.
A presence of black and orange tea flavors lurk in the background, adding to the complexity.
There are also mild fruit flavors including pear, peach & apricot that impart some smoothness.
At the finish, the mellow caramel sweetness quickly turns tangy/dry, and the residual spiciness and mild carbonation bite leave you wanting another sip.
A fairly complex Belgian style beer. The variety of yeast chosen is outstanding, as is the toasted malt and spice selection.

Dark amber with a tiny off white to tan head. Nose is very spice forward meaning I can smell more of the coriander and seemingly cloves, although clove is not mentioned. Taste Taste is also very spice forward, coriander I assume. While this beer is not my style it is an easy drinker, nothing offensive other than it is just not my style.
