Sampling a 16 oz can at cellar temperature and poured into my snifter. Can is date stamped best by 9/28/2023. Oops. in the cellar and lost track of the can. Should be okay.
The beer pours a cola brown and rests in the glass slightly darker than that. A soft dense fluffy beige head of 3 cm foams up and recedes slowly through the sampling. Leaving some scattered lattice as it slides down the glass.
Aroma is some caramel and what I pickup as maple syrup, although its not listed on the can. Maybe its the pecans that are listed?
I also get some cocoa powder and chocolate bar on the nose. No hops and not boozy. Seems to fit my expectations based on the name and label info.
First sip reveals a medium to light body with fine tingly carbonation and a pretty smooth texture. the beer drinks a little on the light side for an imperial stout.
Flavor is similar to the nose with some chocolate bar and maple again, but also some dark chocolate with a little bitterness comes through on the finish. No hops anywhere and the ABV is well hidden.
A good aroma and decent flavor is carrying the beer that could use a little more robust physical profile.

Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pour jet black with very persistent light brown head. The nose is maple granola, graham crackers, vanilla, and milk chocolate. Really smooth. The taste nicely follows the nose. Vanilla, graham crackers, some roasted malts, slight oaky bitterness, oat milk, nuts, and chocolate. Super smooth and creamy. Really nice.

Look...jet black with a light tan leather head with medium to high carbonation.
Smell...oatmeal grain roast coffee, a light hop presence and roast is the strong with the hints of chocolate and brown sugar
Taste...A bitter expectation burnt up with coffee convening to the middle taste of malt, chocolate, grain, oats bittersweet morsels. The bitterness is omnipresent
Feel...A representational expression for the ABV . A bit thin considering but the lacing balances and adds some fullness
Overall....this style of stout tends to be sweeter I think these days. Reminds me of the first stout I had of Sammy Smiths and others of the bitter variety with lots of roast and dryness on the back end. Many times at 8 percent ABV they tend to be sweeter but not in this case. A very good beer and one i will purchase again

Black color with some ruby highlights, a substantial and lasting tan head and some nice lacing. The aroma is dark roasted malt, pecans, oats, hints of vanilla and dark chocolate.
The taste is all of that plus hints of cranberries and molasses, very tasty.
The body is medium/heavy, carbonation is moderate, very smooth and very drinkable.
Altogether, this is a very tasty and enjoyable brew, nice after dinner, or instead of dinner. Worthwhile!

"Best before 9/27/23"; drank 2/24/23 @ the Yarchives.
Brown/black appearance.
A violent pour yielded a huge, noisy tan head; a thick curtain of tree-rung lace was left behind.
Vanilla syrup, strawberry syrup & chocolate syrup in the nose.
Medium thick, sticky mouthfeel.
Chocolate syrup, strawberry syrup, vanilla syrup...just a sticky, syrup-y mess.
Full pass going forward. What the hell happened to Ommegang?
