Might lager with spices.
When the feline warriors, known as the Charr, come home from battle, they reach for a cold Metal Legion Lager to slay their thirst. This brew is a Belgian take on an old-world style of the dark lager, brewed with our Belgian Lager yeast. Metal Legion Lager has a rich aroma and a light, full-flavor mouthfeel with subtle notes of roasted Belgian chocolate. The beer is fermented cold to provide a light, easy-drinking body, and a clean, crisp finish. Along the way, you will enjoy slight notes of the hand-selected spices which include coriander and orange peel. Cheers to the Charr and their unquenchable thirst for greatness!

I could go for more OMG series brews like this black beauty.
It's black lager with spices, just a bit of fizz and no light getting through. The aroma is a subdued roast malt smell. The taste is a sweet roast beer taste with just a hint of spices very tastefully added. The finish is exceptionally clean.
Recommended. I probably won't find this again but if I do, I'll buy some. It is delicious and flavorful yet refreshingly clean.

Canned 7/23, reviewed in Advent Calendar box,, best by 12/23 and poured 2/23. Pours black with and inch khaki head that reduced quickly. Looks great, aroma is mild toasted bread, chocolate , orange rind, tastes similar to smell. Feels soft and mild. I like this midnight lager as it is not blitzed with spices, lol Ommegang’s signature move.

From the can, it pours a clear dark mahogany brown color with a nice light brown head that slowly reduces to a thin layer and leaves some lacing. The nose gets a sweet nutty scent. The mouth gets a slightly sweet flavor with slight bitter notes and some spice.

Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a dark brown color with a big head of tan colored foam. The head has a fantastic level of retention, fading super slowly over time to leave tons of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is dark and roasty smelling with lots of toasted brown bread, coffee, and a light cocoa. Along with these smells comes notes of molasses and caramel, as well as some toffee and maple syrup. There is also some black pepper and a bit of coriander and clove, rounding out the aroma nicely.
Taste – The taste begins with a dark and roasty, lighter bodied, but highly flavorful toasted bready flavor. There are notes of cold brew coffee and a touch of caramel and molasses upfront, with the later sweeter flavors getting slightly lighter as the taste advances. At the same time there is a bit of cocoa and coriander that develop later on in the taste, mixed with a touch of stone fruit. At the end, the dark tastes bitter up a bit more, leaving one with a slightly drier and rather toasty taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is medium to lighter for a dark brew of 6% abv with a carbonation that is lower. A little higher carbonation would have been slightly better for the crisp tastes, although, all said the feel was pretty good for the blend of dark flavors, crisper style, and easy drinking nature.
Overall – A rather nice, slightly more crisp, and very approachable dark brew. Rather nice.

Pours black with a one-half finger head that stays fairly consistently the same throughout the brew. Smell is dark, dry malt. Taste is roasted malt and chocolate. I detect little spices, other than perhaps a faint bit of black pepper. Carbonation is quite low.

Solid dark lager...
Reminding me more of a bock or doppelbock, this dark lager is more than dark - it's black - opaque to the max. Impressive indeed. The smell was a bit underwhelming, but the mouthfeel was full and rich. The taste is very much roasted malts forward, maybe too much, but it was still enjoyable to take in.
