Cooper's Hop Tripel IPA pours a clean golden color, with a small, long-lasting, and lacing head. The aroma has notes of spice and orange. The flavor is a little sweet, with lots of orange and spice, and a hint of tea. Good, full, and just the right amount of fizz. Overall, slightly sweeter, with fruit notes, but overall, well balanced, sneaky, bold, and very tasty.

From a sixteen ounce aluminum can, this one is a cloudy gold color with a blankety, soft, white head. The aroma is has a musty, spicy, quality, with notable fruit and malt. The taste has a moderate sweetness in the fore- to mid-taste. Continued spice and ripe fruit in the taste. Soft malt. The ABV warmth is there throughout. Full in body and interesting.

I've always been surprised this beer's rating wasn't higher. Ommegang? Check. Tripel? Check. But it is slightly boozy with a bit of a strange taste. Tastes like a tripel with more carbonation than normal. Guess that's why it's a tripel IPA . Still enjoyable but different and not sure I love it.

As I suspected, (best by 08APR26) it's a LOT tastier 3X ipa than my first, months old can from Total-Old-Ass-Beer last November. Much better balanced & more fruityish/hoppy and very dangerously quaffable for an 10.5%er!

Poured from a can into a snifter
Appearance – The beer pours a clear golden color with a small head of dense white foam. The head has a decent level of retention, fading over time and leaving a moderate sum of streaky and foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heavy of an apricot and peach smell mixed with notes of cracker malt and some grain and bread. Along with these comes some light yeast and a touch of coriander and clove.
Taste – The taste starts out with a dry bready and cracker malt flavor mixed with notes of yeast and some light spice of coriander and clove. Right from the start there is a rather decent showing of hop, with a grapefruit and herbal flavor being the most predominant, but being accompanied by a light bit of pine. There is also a light fruit taste, with a mix of orange and melon along with a hint of apricot. As the taste advances the grapefruit fades a touch, all while some light floral notes join in. There is also a loss of some of the sweet, being replaced by a moderate level of warming booziness. The tastes take the taste to its end, leaving one with a nice crisp and warming, moderately hopped-up taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel – The body is rather light and fine for a 10.5 % brew with a moderate level of carbonation.
Overall – A very crisp and clean tasting IPA with a big flavor and nice drinkability. This is one I hop Ommegang continues producing. In my opinion one of the better high-octane IPA’s that are not over the top in sweet and malt. A very dangerous and refreshing drinker indeed.

Clear gold, billowing white head, excellent retention, thick bands of lace all the way down
Mango, grapefruit, and berry aromas, with slight pine and dank
Big on the berry and overripe mango flavor, a bit of sweet malt behind it. Could use more bitterness. A bit of warming booze
Fairly light given the ABV, not sticky at all, great carbonation
Usually don't go for hoppy beers this big, but it's nice

Cooper’s Hop Triple IPA from Ommegang. 16 fl oz can picked up at Franklin Beer, Franklin, PA, 28/08/25 - $ 4.25 (including tax)/$ 0.266/fl oz. Reviewed 14/09/25, review 3587. Note that I use DD/MM/YY protocol.
Bottom of can stamped “COOP 230125 23Jul2025”. Stored at home at 40 degrees F. Served at 54.5 degrees F in a hand washed and dried Jester King snifter. The final temperature is 61.3 degrees F.
Appearance – 4.25
First pour – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear.
Body – Pale Gold (SRM 4), clear, lively carbonation. Under direct light, same. When rear-lite, same.
Head – Large (Maximum 4.2 cm, aggressive center pour). White, high density, average retention, leaving a 1.0 – 1.2 cm crown and a complete, rocky cap. Above the crown are medium-sized foam islands.
Lacing – Good. Multiple wide bands of near-microscopic to tiny bubbles connected to the crown and each other by multiple short columns. See also above.
Aroma – 3.5 – Moderately spicy, apples. No malt, no alcohol.
Flavor – 3.75 – Follows the nose – mildly spicy and some generic fruit. No malt, no alcohol (10.5% ABV, according to the label). No dimethylsulfide or diacetyl. Bitter but not too bitter. Slow gastric warming.
Palate – 4 – Medium: Watery: Lively carbonation.
Style: Generally follows the style guidelines as condensed by BA, but lacks maltiness.
Final impression and summation: 3.75 Uncredited artist. Appearance is the best thing about this beer – it looks good and produces attractive lacing but the flavor and aroma are quite mundane. Still, if you’re looking for a cheap alcohol delivery system …

16oz can from Boise Co-op. Pale golden pour, clear, thin white foamy head shrinks slowly. Aroma is fruit with a nice helping of Belgian yeast. Taste is yeasty, floral, sourdough, malty, bready. Nice little bite at the finish.

L-Pours a straw gold beer with a lacy bubbly head. Nice effervescence throughout.
S-Nice notes of melon up front, mango follows, some slight papaya and citrus as well. Malty sweetness. Earthiness towards the end with maybe some biscuit.
T-Slightly sweet, grainy profile, minor funk, malty backbone. Apple juice, mango and melon notes towards the end. A hint of white wine. Strong peppery bitter bite throughout. Booze is hidden pretty well.
F- Nice dry finish, as advertised.
O-Solid bright IPA from a legendary brewery. A nice mix of American and Belgian notes. Overall an interesting and decently complex beer. Some issues with the flavor not packing the punch wanted, but overall solid well made triple IPA that somehow remains bright, sessionable, and fruit forward with its heavy abv.

Poured from a 16 ounce can dated 4-4-25 best by 10-4-25 into a snifter at 48 degrees.

Look- Deep gold, moderately hazy, plentiful small visible particulate, white sudsy head, slightly above average head retention and lacing.

Smell- Clementine, pineapple, pith, biscuit, high strength of scent.

Taste- Clementine, pith, herbaceous, biscuit, pineapple, between medium and high strength of flavor.

Feel- Medium body, average carbonation, highly bitter, moderately creamy, moderately mouth warming, moderately dry finish.

Overall- This beer had above average appearance, feel and aromatic properties. The downfall was in the flavor profile. This beer had a more robust malt backbone than necessary. I like big ABV IPA’s to have enormous hop character with malt playing a minor supporting role. This beer was enjoyable, but I would consider it average.

lacking in every aspect, it's a let down from ommegang, I had so much expectation from "tripel ipa 10.5%" but what I got is very ordinary maybe it's better than a Budweiser ?
