Poured from a can into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep amber color with a small head of just off-white foam. The head fades rather fast, leaving just a bit of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is strong of a sweet caramel and toffee aroma mixed with notes of doughy malt and a touch of bread. Along with these smells are other aromas of apple and pear as well as a touch of earth.
Taste – The taste begins with a sweet bready and doughy malt mixed with lots of caramel and toffee. As suggested by the nose, there is a touch of apple and some light earthy hops. As the taste advances forward, the malt fades a touch, while the sweet gets a bit more intense, with the mix of flavors taking the taste to its end on the tongue and leaving one with a slightly malty and sweeter, but very easy natured taste.
Mouthfeel – The body of the brew is middle of the road in both thickness as well as in creaminess.
Overall – A slightly sweeter and more malty beer, that at 5.5 % drinks quite easily and makes for an easy sipper.

Clear amber, big eggshell head, excellent retention, thin rings with big splotches of lace
Mixed citrus, a bit of juicy fruit, biscuit and light caramel malt, a touch of pine and herbal aromas
The malts blend nicely with the hop and yeast flavors. Scottish shortbread, Hawaiian rolls, and a bit of light caramel with orange, red grapefruit, and a hint of lemon zest
Light bodied, appropriately carbonated
Marketed as a New York-style Pale Ale, it's very much English with an American accent. If I could find beers like this fresh regularly at a decent price, I'd pick them up all the time.
