From a tallboy into a tulip, I can't find a datestamp. This one just isn't for me -- it doesn't hit any of the notes I like most in a kolsch, I don't like lactose in coffee beers, etc. However, if you can separate the coffee from the flavored creamy lactose, the coffee comes through pretty nicely and is rich and interesting. And even though it has a little too much body for the style, I do think it is well constructed and balanced. Anyway, this is the first beer I get to try from these guys, and though it isn't one I'd come back to, I'll look forward to trying different offerings from the brewery.

poured from a 16oz can into a 2nd shift stange. pours a weird burnt orange with minimal amount of thin foam. lots of coffee on the nose and taste, which is great as a coffee lover, but the base beer is fairly secondary due to the amount of fresh roasted coffee. it just renders it a little one note. that said, it works for me. medium-full mouthfeel. finished kind of sticky from the coffee. not bad. as mentioned, pretty one note with the coffee but if coffee is your thing it’s quite tasty.

Can. White head. Autumn golden orange color.
Too sweet for me. Doesn’t tastes like a kolsch. I’ve had this style before but not with lactose. I don’t think it needs lactose. Coffee with too much cream.

From the can on the brewery patio. Interesting non-stout coffee beer. Not my first choice, but pretty good. Basically coffee with booze. Gold color.
