A friend gave me a tallboy, and it says "pastry kettle sour," which throws me for a loop because I've never seen that before (and though I'll occasionally go for kettle sours, I don't very often, and while I've seen plenty of pastry stouts, I've never tried one because it just doesn't sound like what I want from a beer).
Anyway, I've heard plenty of good things about the brewery, so I'm giving it a try: into a Bell's snifter, it looks pretty good, kind of dense rich apricot, with a half a finger head that subsides fairly quickly. Nose is kind of faint peachy pulp and some kind of cereal and super faint sweet spice? Taste is much more pronounced: way too sweet for me, but I expected that, and at least it isn't cloying: there's definitely some peach, but there's also something kind of grainy and sweet, and maybe some honey and cinnamon or allspice? This one's a curio for me, but if you like sweet, then it's probably pretty good. It is too far out of my range to have any confidence in my judgment, but it strikes me as fairly well made.
Now I look it up, and apparently

Can pour. Was excited to try this one, but it missed the mark compared to their other granola sours. Was way too tart and didn’t have the sweetness and the granola showing very much. Otherwise as advertised.

We love reviews (150 characters or more)! Check out: How to Review a Beer. You don't need to get fancy. Drop some thoughts on the beer's attributes (look, smell, taste, feel) plus your overall impression. Something that backs up your rating and helps others. Thanks!
