The Baltic Porter is an overlooked style, and it is nice to find one that nails the style so well. Rich maltiness with a nice licorice-y background. Full mouthfeel without being heavy. The best beer brewed in Decorah - that isn't hop-heavy or +12% ABV.

Can from John’s poured into PR tulip at home. Tremendous brown head sits atop jet black beauty. Solid Baltic porter.

Phelp’s Park Porter pours black with a decent-sized tan head. The aroma is rich, with lots of sweeter dark cereal notes. THe flavor is sweet yet burnt, with hints of dark cereal and black licorice. Good feel. Overal, very solid, easy baltic porter.

Aroma is toasted malts, mild chocolate and walnuts/pecans. The flavor is chocolate/slight dark chocolate and a long and very toasty malt/acidic finish.
