Typical thick, viscous pour. Dark brown froth rises up but is quick to settle back into the body of the beer.
The nose smells like liquid Almond Joy. The cashew imitates the almond nuttiness, and there’s an abundance of coconut and dark chocolate notes. There’s a touch of underlying roast on the back end, which increases slightly as the beer continues to warm.
The palate doesn’t punch quite as sweetly as the nose, really helping to balance the experience. The coconut comes forward first, mildly bittering and toasty. Following is dark chocolate and vanilla. The finish is really where you get the cashew treatment. Buttery richness, and an almost-astringent quality on the tail end and a bit of salinity that helps cut the heaviness of the beer nicely.
Thick and smooth. Not Weldwerks thick, but I was getting those vibes. Bitterness from the toasted coconut and cashew brings balance, with a good warmth on the finish.
