Loved it, exactly what I wanted from a maple porter.

Not sold on this one. It pours a nice deep brown with some red overtones. The head is slightly fizzy with tight bubbles but it doesn't last long. The nose on the beer definitely portends some sweetness. Perhaps there is a maple syrup aroma or maybe a bit of cherries or maybe just a bunch of fructose, hard to pin down, but it is definitely sweetish. This is a medium bodied beer and there is a combination of sweet malts, some roasted dark porter character, perhaps some syrupy or maple flavors perhaps a bit of cherry. The problem I have is on the back end. The sweetness is really cloying and diminishes the pleasantness on the front end. The sweetness really takes away from the porter character that is trying to come through. Just too sweet. The consistency is a bit oily, no lacing on the glass either. The aftertaste is a bit thick in the mouth. The novelty of this is worth a try but now I have half a bottle that I'm not excited about finishing. This is a one and done.

Taste is like a maple fructose syrup. Left a gritty sugar coating feeling in my mouth. They need to change they maple flavoring they use. Definitely a commercial grade fructose syrup. I had it in a bottle and on tap at the brewery.

What a fantastic and unique beer! This is a solid porter with a great maple flavor. The maple really comes through unlike most other maple beers I've tried.
