Label says "Double Altbier", IBU 43, dated Feb '17, "Aged in bourbon barrels with tart cherries and Dominican cocoa". 22oz bottle. Pours with a pillowy puffy head that slowly settles. Deep copper honey color, dark but not cloudy. Smell is cherry and oak, with a trace of bourbon. Taste is some tart cherries, a dash of cocoa, a bit of bourbon barrel. Mouthfeel is well balanced, substantial body with moderate carbonation. Overall, this is a good beer but there is a bit of the taste that I don't like as much. I suspect it is the combination of the cocoa and the barrel. Might be more to my taste if they dropped the cocoa and had a little more prominent vanilla bourbon barrel.
