L: Golden straw color with a ivory head fading quickly to a ring around the glass and good lacing.

S: Mostly bitterness from pine resin on the nose with hay field qualities and dankness.

T: Dankish taste with citrus - both dominated my the bitterness which is quite beyond my expectation of a 85 IBU.

F: Prickly carbonation over the whole tongue serves to cut the weight of the medium body

O: Dry overall and while I would say nicely bitter, that quality hid the finer points of the beer.

Color is on the orange side of amber with plenty of white foam in the snifter. Orange and pine in the aroma. Some malty sweetness followed by a snootful of hops and plenty of IBUs. It's resiny and fruity with a dose of pineapple and an astringent finish.

Quite bitter in the aftertaste but of course that's why you're here. Overall this is a rather rich and flavorful hoppy brew in the manly style. From the 32 oz growler filled at Penn Cove Brewing taproom in Coupeville.

On tap at Uber.

The appearance is golden, with a nice head and good lacing. This IPA is dank, with plenty of grapefruit and citrus in the aroma and flavor, and lots of bitterness. It's a well done IPA.

Served On-Tap into a 16oz Willibecher

A - Pours a nice honey hued amber, not unlike a light maple syrup. There is great clarity shown and a nice billowy off-white head is formed on-top, leaving behind nice spots of lacing with each sip.

S - Smell is fairly muted initially, but there are some chewy gummy notes of grapefruit and citrus, almost an ugli fruit rind aroma, an odd limey grapefruit aroma on top of a cereal grain and lightly chewy malt base.

T - Taste is nice and tropical with some lightly chewy grapefruit flesh and pith, fairly juicy notes of lemon and orange juice, fairly bitter and juicy all at the same time, a little bit of pine and a slightly yeasty and satisfying finish.

M - Light-Medium body, somewhat of a lingering and filmy finish. Easy drinking though.

O - Very nice overall, one of the better beers I've had from FS, a nice and unique approach to an IPA, fermented with a Brett like yeast strain, it is tropical, mildly yeasty, and dry.
