Black and viscous in the snifter. Rich and truly dark-roast flavor. Smooth but not overly carbonated. Huge boozy flavor but different taste than the usual Bourbon-flavored varieties. Sweet like Port wine-- that's the different and interesting flavor.
A distinct hoppy finish but not too bitter. Hot with alcohol, which adds some balance to the liqueur-like sweetness. I'm glad to try the first barrel-aged brew from Farmstrong. On tap at the brewery taproom.
