can into glass
Thin white head. Light orange/caramel/amber appearance. Pleasant, caramel malt with a bit of wood and spice, for the aroma. Watery, dry caramel malt and some spiced woodiness, for the taste.

The color is in fact amber, and ther is an abundance of foam in the Copper Kettle goblet. Grainy aroma. It is kind of like a Blonde ale at first sip. Definitely on the sweet side with very shy hops, if any. There is a vegetable touch of something. Kind of a straw and green beans note.

While one's hope don't get up too much for anything that implies some connection to Mexican lagers, this is quite drinkable and well made. I wouldn't call it crisp. Tastes like there was a bit of lemon waved around the brewery. From the 12 oz can purchased at the Co-op Market downtown Mount Vernon.

12oz can received in a box from beertunes. Nothing labeled as a freshness date, but the bottom of the can is stamped "FSB NCG 420." According to the can, this is an "ambar lager."

Poured into a Jever pilsener glass, this was a copper-amber color, with a quick-rising (and falling) off-white head. No real lace was left behind. Slightly chill-hazed, but still pretty good clarity.

Slightly herbal, grassy and floral hop character, with some lightly sweet, caramelly malt notes. The malts are in the lead, but it's not a race. This smells like a light, laid-back approach to a Vienna Lager.

The taste is exactly what was foretold in the nose. Light, bready caramel-ish malt flavor leads, reminding me a little of a breakfast roll without any icing applied. The hops are light and grassy, with a very mild herbal bite. Way in the background there was a flavor reminding me of something somewhere between apple juice and diacetyl, but it's super far down in the mix. The finish is clean, but not particularly crisp.

Light bodied, but a little less crisp than I expected for a 4% beer. Then again, this is not a pilsener, so it doesn't lose too many points for that.

This is a pretty good take on a light Vienna Lager. While my favorite is still the one brewed about 20 minutes or so north of Farmstrong, at Chuckanut, this wins major points for it's sheer easy drinkability. The can label seems familiar to me, so I think I might have seen it at Total Wine. If next time I'm there I happen to see it, I might pick up some for summer weather consump

Amber color, crystal clear, light tan head. Aromas are sweet corn, grass, and a smidge of a diacetyl aroma.

The taste (with no diacetyl present at all) is very malt forward and sweet, which gives this a richer mouthfeel than you'd expect with a 4.0% ABV beer.

Give me a bag of tortilla chips and a good, spicy salsa, and I'd drink this until it came out my ears.

I had this beer on-tap in a mason jar at the brewery.

Appearance: lightly cloudy orange hue with a thin layer of white foam.

Smell: sweet and malty with a bit of corn character.

Taste: malty with an element of corn and some yeastiness; relatively strong bitterness for the style.

Mouthfeel: medium light body with a decent carbonation and a bit of a rocky texture.

Overall: I was hoping this would be light and refreshing, but there's just a little too much corn flavor for my taste.
