This was brewed for Farmstrong's second anniversary brewed with a Belgian Trappist yeast, and Chinook and Citra hops. From the 32 oz jug filled at the tasting room this evening. Clear golden with a brownish tinge and piles of sticky foam in the narrow Bitburger glass. Pleasant creamy carbonation in the mouth.
Flavor starts with a promising wheaty taste and significant sweetness. It's quite malty tasting for an IPA, but the hops are serious. It's rated at 70 IBUs which seems excessive for the Belgian style of IPA. The aftertaste is a little more bitter than I'd like. Actually it doesn't taste like Citra either, unless the overhopping blows out the aromatics.
