Clear dark amber brown with plenty of foam in the Orval chalice. Hops are not noted but it's full of malt. Rye flavor is present with the spicy and grainy taste. Rich and flavorful with just a touch of malty sweetness. A hint of chocolate with dark caramel. Such a nice balance of with a little bitterness, though it's mostly about the dark malts.
Overall this is really quite drinkable and a nice change from the overly hopped productions. This is one of the best Brown Ale varieties I've had in a long time. From the 32 oz crowler can filled at the brewery tap.
