my first from these guys, on tap at fresh craft. what a very basic pale ale this is, a little english in the grain composition, and a little yeasty, less hoppy than most american takes on this style, but i wanted a little more from it on the whole, as good as it does taste. dark dull orange in color, with a good inch of white head in the pint glass. it smells a little english, almost like an esb with that type of hops and grain intersection, but a little more bitter on the back end, and a little more on the dry side. not sure how fresh this can be, coming from hawaii, it has to take some time right? overall a solid pale ale with a lot of body, but perhaps not the most compelling beer to introduce themselves to colorado. i was sorry to have missed their booth at GABF, but their other beers look pretty cool. not a bad pale ale, just nothing to keep them at the forefront if you know what i mean. easy drinking but with some body and some hops, thats about all you can ask for from a beer like this, and it delivers at least that much.
