This was stop #4 on a 6-day pub crawl that would take my wife and me to the Brewers Guild UP Beer Fest and back. This brewery is located in the center of a very small community about 15-20 miles west of Traverse City. They have been open for only a few months, and are still trying to fill up their 24 taps with beer, wine, mead or cider. No food is available here beyond some packaged snacks. The ambiance here is nice and has a true 'pub' feel to it.
We ordered a sampler flight of 6 beers, which were all that they had available that day. Each of them was brewed very well to style, and 4 of the 6 exceeded style characteristics so that our scoring gave them an overall grade of a B minus. The two that were most notable were the Little Chief Session IPA and the Cordwood Savage Rye IPA. The beers were good enough that we look forward to a return visit to discover what else they brew for their future beers.
