Pours a opaque black in color, tan colored head that fades. Aroma is roasty but also earthy notes. Taste is similar, a bit acidic. Medium bodied, mouthfeel is a bit slick.

Stickman Brews "Obesity Epidemic"
$9 / 32 oz. growler fill, 2 days old at time of sampling
Notes via stream of consciousness: Listed as a "Belgian Stout" at 7.8% ABV. Opaque brown black body beneath a creamy dark tan head. Spotty and streaky lacing. Bright aromas of chocolate, raisin, cherry, molasses, and roastiness. The flavor is not as rich as the aroma suggests but contains all of the same elements. The fruitiness is lighter, but it also 'pops' a bit right before the finish, which is dry and gently piney. Overall it's quite interesting in the way that the flavors seem a bit restrained, and also work together so well. It's immensely drinkable! I was expecting it to be bigger, more malty, and heavier in the mouth but it's no more than medium/medium-full in body. The very fine-bubbled moderate carbonation leaves it smooth. I'm also finding some coffee in it although the roastiness is fairly light, and even a hint of coconut. What I'm not getting a lot of is Belgian character, which is OK. It's there in the background with some clove and spice, and it appears more so in the finish, but it doesn't jump out at you; and on that note I'll suggest that this is a great example of how sometimes a little bit of refinement is much more powerful than just "going all out". In my mind the drinkability here is almost off the chart. Wow! Really superbly well-balanced, rounded, and polished. A winner to be sure! Highly recommended.
