Stickman Brews "Lazlo Brett Pale Ale"
on tap at the brewery on 1 April 2017
Notes: Cloudy golden-orange body beneath a short head of frothy bright white. The head retention is surprisingly good but the lacing is limited. The aroma is yeasty like green beer but there's some Brettanomyces character to it as well (wet straw, polished leather, red & yellow fruits). The flavor follows with a sweetish malt that's lorded over by a bold bitterness. The Brett characteristics come through along with a touch of balancing tartness; and there's also some very nice tropical fruitiness to it (I don't know if that's coming from the yeast, hops, or a combination of yeast and malt). That tropical note quite pleasantly mixes with the sweetness of the malt though, and also makes it a bit unique and earns it some extra points. It's got a zesty effervescence and a medium body.

Probably shouldn't be rating this without creating a new entry, as this is based on a Firkin with blood oranges.
The sharp oranges take over this beer. Sharp / spicy aromas, which tame in the flavor. Taste is heavy on orange peel - rather bitter. Dry mouthfeel/ finish. The nearly 7% ABV is well hidden, but you can't get in trouble with this one as it's not a chugger.
