This was the first beer that I had from Stickman as I picked it up a few weeks back at the Bottle King in Livingston. Laughed at the name but the taste was this was serious as this was a hoppy and sticky (no pun intended) beer that went down easily for being an Imperial IPA!
Nice pour to this as the liquid was amber and full of dark sediment that was suspended in it. Plenty of foamy head topped it off as the lacing left behind was in the form of a thick ring about a quarter of the way down the side of my pint glass. Some decent bits remained below that although it was quite uneven. Lots of hop oils, moderate citrus, and deep tropical notes in the nose as the taste contained a good amount of orange pith, fleshy mango and papaya, hop funk, baker's chocolate, and weed. Quite a beer from the left coast at heart, this was plenty sticky as it had enough resin to linger on my palate and lips once this fully went down, as some earthiness lingered for the duration.
The carbonation was moderate, the malt basic, and the alcohol present but certainly not overpowering. Nothing was written on the bottom of the can, including the date, as the felt fresh but might have been a tad old given how it looked. Plenty slick, this still didn't pull any punches as it made no offers that I couldn't refuse. Glad I gave this one a try!
