i love centennial hops, and this one uses them from michigan, a little less woodsy and milled lumbery than they are from the northwest, with a little more citrus built in it seems, but equally intense, oily, and distinctive. this beer looks real clear next to their other ipa types, its all haze in here except for this one, a welcomed change of pace and something a little more classic. bronze in color with a little copper to it and a full inch of white head. the centennial hops are nice in the nose and flavor, some pine and a lot of cantaloupe, honey, and bitter citrus, a great finishing bitterness here for sure, it balances the slightly heartier malt base, this has a great equilibrium and is very drinkable as such. the centennial from michigan is a cool ingredient, and the beer is well built to showcase it. id be neat to make the same one with washington centennial to see the difference, i think mikkeller did that with a few varietals, but they definitely seem unique in this beer. drinkable compared to most of the other hoppy beers in here, good stuff!
