Seven Days (Pomegranate Orange) the second can released in this fruited sour ale series, this time conditioned on top of yummy pomegranate and fresh heirloom oranges. As we kiss winter goodbye we’re already thinking about how much of this we’ll be crushing this summer.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 3/2019. Pours moderately hazy/cloudy reddish orange/amber color with a 1-2 finger dense and rocky light pink head with fantastic retention, that reduces to a nice cap that lasts. Thick foamy lacing clings on the glass, with a fair amount of streaming carbonation. Fantastic appearance. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy pomegranates, cranberry, strawberry, fruit skin/seed, oranges, citrus peel/zest, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of pomegranates, oranges, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of big juicy/tart/tangy pomegranates, cranberry, strawberry, fruit skin/seed, oranges, citrus peel/zest, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tartness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of tart/tangy pomegranates, cranberry, strawberry, fruit skin/seed, oranges, citrus peel/zest, lemon, lime, peach, plum, pear, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of pomegranates, oranges, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with an awesome malt/tartness and tangy fruit balance; with zero puckering flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tartness and tangy fruit. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, moderately creamy/silky/grainy, and fairly acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an outstanding fruited kettle sour. All around awesome complexity, robustness, and balance of pomegranates, oranges, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/drying finish; nicely soft and not overly lactic. Awesome balance of juicy, fairly jammy pomegranates/oranges, Lacto complexity, and pale/wheat malts against acidity. Light residual sweetness with lingering dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and impressive style example as expected. Just as delicious as the first one, but less sour/acidic this time around.
