3rd installment in our rotating fruited sour ale series, this time conditioned on northern Michigan cherries and vanilla bean. Lightly tart, refreshing, great fruit character and crushable.

16 ounce can into tulip glass, canned in 4/2019. Pours lightly hazy/cloudy deep orange/amber, light pink/reddish color with a small dense and rocky light pink head with great retention, that reduces to a thin cap that lingers. Nice spotty soapy lacing clings on the glass, with a light amount of streaming carbonation. Aromas of big juicy/tart/tangy red cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Damn nice aromas with great balance and complexity of cherries, vanilla, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt notes; with great strength. Taste of huge juicy/tart/tangy red cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness. Light-moderate fruity/lactic tart/sourness, fruit tang, and light spiciness on the finish. Lingering notes of juicy/tart/tangy red cherries, fruit skin/pits, lemon, lime, orange, peach, pear, pineapple, apricot, melon, red/green apple, white grape/wine, hay, straw, grass, vanilla, cream, wheat, cracker, white bread dough, light peppercorn/lacto funk, and yeast earthiness on the finish for a good bit. Incredible complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, vanilla, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt flavors; with a fantastic malt/vanilla/tart/sourness, and tangy fruit balance; with no puckering/astringent flavors after the finish. Light-moderate increasing dryness from lingering tart/sourness and tangy fruit. Medium-plus carbonation and light-medium body; with a very smooth, creamy/silky/grainy, and fairly acidic/tangy/tannic mouthfeel that is fantastic. Zero warming alcohol as expected of 5%. Overall this is an fantastic fruited kettle sour. All around fantastic complexity, robustness, and balance of cherries, vanilla, fruity/acidic yeast, and pale/wheat malt flavors; very smooth and refreshing to drink with the mellowly acidic/tangy/tannic/drying finish; nicely soft and not overly lactic. Amazing balance of juicy/jammy cherries and Lacto complexity; with a great vanilla and pale/wheat malt backbone against acidity. Light residual sweetness with lingering acidic/tangy fruit dryness. A highly enjoyable offering, and amazing style example. This was the best one so far. Less sour/acidic from the lingering vanilla sweetness.
