Enjoyed the funky decor and colors. The crusted Mahi Mahi was excellent. I also enjoyed the lobster
bisque as a starter. Definitely worth a try!the chicken salad with grapes is outstanding. This place has great food. Fun atmosphere, good beer too. The South Beach Chicken is my favorite. A bit of a wait on the weekends
and around dinner time. Worth it though.
this place closed recently due to the economic hardship. it was one of the few Brewpubs we had in this area. not a bad place to go grab a nice microbrew and some decent food. lunch specials were good. however a "Roadhouse Grill" is opening where this used to be, so i am interested to see if they will still be brewing beer.

I have to say that hops was a very nice place . The wait staff was very good a little lacking on beer knowledge but willing to help out with any choices I had . More importantly he set us up to try every beer/combo available before happy hour was over . The food was good not above average just good . The only problem was the small beer selection but it did have the standards and had a very cool display built into the table ( grains actually in the table ) . And of course the place had my favorite with the viewable brewing equipment I can not say how much I love / am jealous of this stuff .

Well I like most hops, as they are all really the same and this was my first one when I lived in Florida. Have been to a few over the years, but this is the one that got me into the doors so to speak. Once you get in there is a lovely view of the tanks and the bar is a few steps up on your right. The usually selcetion of hops brews is there to be found, I always find my way to the Hammerhead Red. Food as always is excellent, albeit a bit pricey, but I love the inlay on the table, just something about eating with hops on your table! Overall this was like the rest, a quality restaurant that just happens to make their own brew too.

This review takes into account the food as well as the beer and overall service. Based on the beer the place is avg at best, but the service, quality food, and prices make this place a good stop when in the Ft. Myers area. Based on my trip this is the only place to get decent beer plus food in the area.
So lets get to the review, the hops is located in a stand alone bldg in a shopping center complex across from Best Buy. Upon entering it is very busy but feels pretty relaxed. As you walk in you walk by the bar. It also has a open kitchen which I like and the beer is good not great. They also have a happy hour for those interested.
My wife had the caribbean steak which was cooked to perfection and I had the burger cooked to exact specs. The service was great and the menu was well thought out and had a great variety. I recommend this hops if your in the Ft. Myers area.

Hops is located in the Southern part of Fort Myers, right on Rt 41.
We stopped in around 2:00 on Superbowl Sunday and found the waitstaff outnumbering the customers probably 2-1, easily. There were only 6-7 other people in the besides us.
Nice bar, clean surroundings, the brewhouse is viewable from the bar as well as the glassed in kitchen. No activity to be seen in the brewhouse.
They had thier regular beers and 2 seasonals-a Scotch ale and an Oatmeal stout.
I asked for thier hoppiest brew and the bartender offered up thier Red. (Minimal hops). All beers are served up in frosty mugs, probably welcome in the sizzle of summer, but only helped quell any attributes of my Red. We also tried the Golden, very clean and not too memorable, and the Oatmeal Stout, which was not bad, but in todays world of quality craft brews, average.
The only food we tried was the grilled shrimp served with "Walkers Wood Sauce", curious name with no explanation..Hopefully the sauce was not made by man walking with wood.
Anyways, they were extremely tasty and we were wishin' for more, but not at $8.00 for 5 shrimp with 2 pieces of bread.
The bartender was good, friendly enough, I asked if they were still making thier own beers as I had heard that they were starting to close down the Hops locations, and he said they were still brewing, about once a week.
He did say that they had closed the one in Naples due to a "fire" in the brewhouse.
Looking around, seeing all the waitstaff/help standing around and lack of customers,I wouldn't be surprised if the next time I go the doors will be closed.
I'd go back, though.

This is easily my favorite Hops location. There is something distinctly different here that fits me. The large center rectangle bar is not distinctly different but it seems so because of the entry point. Comfortable seating, newspapers and a large waiting area seem very accomodating.
The potato/cheese soup here is excellent, the serving large and the lunch price is right! The beer is pretty much the same as elsewhere, but seems better because of the food. Very good serice on my visits here, at least from the bartender waitress.

What a crime, the beer and service at this so-called brewpub is so bad that it does nothing but harm the image of craft brewed beer. The bartenders here no nothing about beer, nothing about serving beer and what's worse they could not possibly care any less. The quality of their brews is bad and I honestly think the frozen glasses they try to serve it in wouldn't really make it any worse. Knowledge about their products? A big zero. On 3 occasions none the less. I wrote a sincere letter to corporate management and they seemed not even concerned. Their response was a lame form letter apology and a promise to bring the matter.... blah blah blah.
