Bottle 0.5L.
Dark golden, hazy body, with a huge, white, creamy head, mostly lasting with a nice lacing; high density of tiny bubbles.
Moderate-to-heavy yeasty aroma (dough) with notes of lemon, banana and maybe some pear.
Moderate-to-heavy sweet flavour with some acidic note in the aftertaste.
Light-to-medium body with an oily texture; lively carbonation; light astringent feeling in the finish.

Sort of a weird aftertaste but golden color, great smell, heavier than it looks. Great American Heffe.

12oz bottle at Pizza Brew in Calgary.
This beer pours a clear, medium copper amber hue, with one fat finger of puffy, loosely foamy, and fizzy off-white head, which leaves little beyond a low berm of surface tension lace around the glass as it quickly blows off.
It smells of gritty wheat grain, mild cloves, dried banana chips, and a bit of rather musty earthy hops. The taste is big on the dry banana character up front, followed by a wan grainy wheatiness, muddled earthy spice, and a certain wet cardboard mustiness.
The carbonation is soft, and mostly just plainly frothy, the body a decent medium weight, and a bit tacky in its otherwise unassailed smoothness. It finishes off-dry, the wheatiness predominating, with a bit of yeasty banana essence lingering behind.
If this was indeed brewed in Monroe, WI, by you-know-who, then those German overseers did a bang-up job protecting their brand from the usual shoddy, flim-flamming contract brewing that seems to occur there. Kind of a shame that it's only available at this tied house, at least in Alberta.
