Barrel aged sour with nectarines added. Mr. Nectarine is very complex and dry beers aged with fresh fruits. They carry a fruity sweetness and amazing aromas yet somehow finish dry.

Drinking this bottle (eek!) makes my heart hurt. I purchased it in the Belvedere's takeaway shop from manager Loranie Armstrong, a high school classmate from the old neighborhood. He passed away not long afterwards & I am planning to be at his viewing on Thursday. RIP as I toast his memory.
From the wee (330 ml) Bottle (gasp!): "Barrel aged sour with Nectarines added."
I Pop!ped the cap on this little grenade & started a slow, gentle C-Line pour into the awaiting glass. I got very little head as a result & it actually looked a bit still once it was in my glass. Color was a gorgeous Yellow-Gold (SRM = 4 - 5) with NE-quality clarity, summoning forth The Gelt Gang of Mammon, Midas & Croesus for a taste. Nose was more funky than nectarine, but the latter is a delicate smell so it was not hard to believe that it was overwhelmed. Mouthfeel was thin & watery. The taste was both puckeringly tart & ear-ringing sour! Phew. Once I got over the initial shock, I could definitely taste the nectarines! Mmm. I generally eschew tart & sour beers because a) they set off my GIRD & b) they tend to be too challenging for my hophead tastes. This one was definitely challenging, but it was also quite drinkable. Finish was dry and vinous, akin to a white wine. I was glad to have tried it, but it was a one & done for me. YMMV.
