Consumed from a growler hours after filling -- fresh beer in my town! -- poured into a shaker pint, this has a coarse, persistent, two-finger head, mild aroma -- not heavily citrus, despite the Cascade, medium-dark orange color, slight haze. Really well-balanced, strong flavors, but won't knock you back with its bitterness. I'm not a fan of merely hoppy IPAs, but a well-executed double/imperial with some malt complexity in balance with the bitterness makes for a satisfying experience. Carbonation is just right, and the mouth feel is satisfying, medium-bodied, and good but not excessive carbonation. Sneakily drinkable for the ABV. Recommended, if you're in the area.
