Beige head which leaves extensive lacing: wide streaks, rings, and a couple of blankets. Dark brown color where only the brightest light passes through the edge.
Black patent malt aroma with a touch of cream.
Fairly dry with black patent burnt bitterness dominating the flavor. Thin bodied like the Irish versions with the carbonation muted in a good way. The finish has a hop bitterness beyond the burnt malt. Overall, a pleasant entry into the category.
