Poured from a can at fridge temp. Pours black with a considerable amount of tan head. Vanilla strikes first on the nose. A nice smoky/roasty note comes through, along with nice malts, dark fruit, and walnuts. Very smooth.
The taste is really good. A great mix of roasted malts and vanilla. Neither one overpowers the other. Fairly sweet overall. Some tobacco, coffee grounds, maple, walnuts, dark chocolate, black licorice, dark bread, and an ever-so-slight soy sauce note. This is really nice and easy drinking.
Mouthfeel is medium bodied with a relatively sweet aftertaste. Nice finish. Overall, a really nice porter.
