A - Black poor with dense soapy dark cream colored lacing.
S - Vanilla, rum, some oak, light chocolate, sweet aroma and nice blend.
T - Dark roast chocolate, rum, vanilla, oak all blended perfectly. Lingering chocolate char with rum and a hint of vanilla.
M - Big body and very little warming on the way down.
O - Wish I bought more bottles of this one. This is absolutely fantastic.

Vanilla bomb while still really cold but that fades as it warms and goes into more of a coffee roast. Very nice beer from Deviate and I hope that they continue to make barrel aged beers in the future.

Slight backstory goes that the rum barrels used for this were actually purchased by locals and given to the brewery, and a "ton" of vanilla went into the beer. I was lucky enough to try this twice. Pours on the "almost black" side with a off-white/tan head. Strong vanilla on the nose. The flavor profile is where this beer really hits its stride. A sweetness hits the palate and then transforms to a marshmallow flavor akin to Handjee. A little on the thin side, but the flavor has staying power on the palate. Overall, I was surprised by this beer.
