Released on 12/15/23 as the 10th stout in the 12 Stouts of Christmas lineup for 2023.
These stouts all pour the same, and that’s a good thing: jet-black with a dense khaki head that lingers.
The nose is very roasty but underwhelming. Not picking up much in the way of apples or associated pie spice.
The taste is similar; I get apple, but it’s subdued. I would’ve liked some cinnamon or even nutmeg, but faint apple with roasty coffee is all there is.
Underwhelmed by this one. Very one-note. Not bad, but expected more.
