Released on 12/20/23 as the 12th stout in the 12 Stouts of Christmas lineup for 2023.
I have no idea what Spanish Coffee is, but the nose on this is so coffee forward and fantastic!! The taste follows, but I’m getting a weird aftertaste that is almost metallic at the end of the sip. Not enjoyable.
Looking up Spanish Coffee tells me that it’s a coffee drink featuring Kahlua, rum and orange liqueur. Not sure if that metallic tang is from the orange, but I don’t really get these flavors, except maybe the Kahlua by way of the coffee and chocolate notes. Actually, as it warms, the orange really starts to come out, and that unpleasant aftertaste fades, (or maybe I’ve just gotten used to it.)
This one ranks on the lower end of the 2023 lineup for me, but still some enjoyable facets of it.
