This one of a kind porter is a pleasant mix of dark chocolate and black malts. It's brewed with raw organic coconut and finished with Northern Brewer hops.

12 oz. can, 6.3% ABV, 22 IBU, Packaged on: 8/15/23
AROMA: Sweet with strong (but not overpowering) scent of coconut, followed by hints of chocolate and malt, with maybe a wisp of lime at the very end.
APPEARANCE: Pours an opaque black with a medium-high, tan head that dissipates moderately with minimal lacing. It looks nice in a clear Pilsner glass for about 30 seconds. After that the head and lacing have completely disappeared and it just looks like a glass of cola.
TASTE: Moderately sweet with the predominant flavors being coconut and chocolate. On the backend there is something that I can't quite identify but it is a tiny bit sour and has a metallic "tinge" to it. Whatever it is, it seems out of place. The finish is on the dry side and has an unsweetened cocoa flavor.
MOUTHFEEL: Medium bodied with a slightly watery texture and above average carbonation.
OVERALL: A year ago, I tried Funky Buddha's Last Snow coconut Porter and found it to be delicious. I was so enamored that I searched high-and-low for it this last Christmas (which is when it is released as a seasonal brew), and could not find it anywhere, locally. So when I saw this coconut Porter in the store, I thought I would give it a shot. Unfortunately, I don't like this beer nearly as much. The beer is definitely packed with flavor, so I can't fault it there. You get lots of coconut and chocolate, and it is easily identifiable as a Porter. However, that metallic "tinge" seems to really throw off my taste buds and makes me want to stop drinking it after about half a beer. Which is a shame because I find the other aspects of the beer to be quite good.

One of the better porters I have had...
Great looking beer with a solid coconut scent and the classic, malty porter smell. Mouthfeel was medium-bodied and the taste was solid, making this a very solid beer.

This one has lot’s of great things going on. On the nose it’s pretty much just coconut. Some slight earthy, nutty, coffee notes but mostly overtaken my coconut. But all of those things come out nicely on the taste. I love the addition of coconut to the traditional notes of a porter. It just goes together. This is a good change of pace beer.

Can’t decide between a pina colada or a Guinness? Get one of these. Perfect blend. Don’t like either? Get a PBR.

Way too much coconut on the nose, with an almost artificial quality. Thankfully, the palate is perfectly balanced, with cola, dark cocoa, and a kiss of coconut. Dark chocolate coats the palate on a long finish.

On tap at Engine 15 (JAX).
Very dark brown body that is topped by a weak head but provides some lacing.
Nice aroma that features dark grains but carries a touch of hops. The hops are much more obvious in the flavor. The coconut is largely MIA.
The body is medium-light but seems a bit under-carbonated.
