Modest head production and decent retention. Body is a murky candied orange hue, initially fairly clear, but increasingly murky as the pour continues.
Very fragrant nose, with the rum barrel and the additives combining in an overall impression of a tropical mixed drink. It's quite nice, but very potent, a touch alcoholic, and overall likely to be polarizing due to the strong rum presence.
Sweet, but not overly so. The mango puree and rum are a perfect pairing, and the tripel base supports it all quite well. I'm unsure where the coconut and vanilla fit in, as they're lost in the mix. Very potent, but not aggressively so.
Overall, this comes across more like a carbonated mixed drink than a beer, and the tripel is nothing more than a base for the rest of the ingredients. All that being said, it's very tasty - albeit a touch too boozy.
