Copenhagen 14/7 2023. 75 cl bottle from The Beer Hive, Amagerbrogade, Kbh. S. Simple drawing of apartment buildings in fine green pen on the label.
Quite gushy and almost explosive upon opening. Pours unclear amber with a big off-white head. Stable. Settles as 0,5 cm thick layer of foam covering the surface of thew beer. Crawling up the sides of the glass. Substantial lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a sweet, tasted and malty odor mingling with a tart fruity odor with a touch of phenol. Sweet caramel, toffee and toasted bread. Lemon and leather. Esters.
Light carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, soft, flat texture. Not surprising after gushing all over the place.
Flavor is medium intense with a strong sweetness followed by a medium strong bitterness. Aftertaste is sweet with a light bitter undertone. Lingers for a bit. Finish is semi-dry.
A bit off as a Dubbel with a phenolic tang.
