Picked this one up on a flyer at the happybahnhöff branch of World of Beer in Zurich. From a .33 liter bottle into a hotel tumbler. Bubble show from the high carb, clear light gold color, big fizzy head. Nose is kind of green grass and wet hay bready malt, and just a little funky sweet…not bad, but kind of one note. Taste is consistent with nose…again, some nice things but nothing too memorable. Mouthful is wet, fairly light, champagne-bubbly…moderately dry but also a little sticky at the end.

Light yellow in color, slightly cloudy, and bubbly. Taste the sour at first, but then slight fizz and almost a champagne evervessance there after. My second offering from this brewery, as I also enjoy the Insel Herb.

Clear yellow color with pillowy white head. Aroma is tart and fruity with intense unripe stonefruits, lactic acidity and lemon juice. Taste starts tart but with a sweetness in the background, like a sweetened lemonade. Just a slight lemon acidity, doesn't bother me at all. Medium to light bodied with medium effervescence, overall quite smooth feel. Really nice sour from a brewery I didn't really have any expectations.

Listed here as an AWA. Bottle states 'Natursauer' (natural sour) on the front and 'sour ale' on the back for Internationale Bierkategorie.

Very pale, golden-yellow with quickly dissipating head that left no lacing. It has a rather unappealing egg yolk-like substance floating near the top and descending down to the bottom. Also looks like dehydrated piss. Prost!
Definite sourness in the aroma. Acetic, with lemon, and green apples. Slight oakiness. Chardonnay-like. Much better than the appearance!
Sourness upfront, effervescent in the middle to end, and finishing dry. Reminiscent of a Sauvignon Blanc or even more so a Chardonnay (perhaps even a champagne) as it has that hazelnut finish to it. Some oak to it as well.
Light body, highly carbonated, and puckering by the time its over.
Overall, this was a nice surprise, especially given the appearance and the fact that I was skeptical of a German 'Natursauer.' This is something along the lines of a Petrus Aged Pale, just not on quite that level. Still, I appreciate what the Insel Brauerei is doing - shunning the Reinheitsgebot! (They use Traubenzucker - grape sugar - in a lot of their beers.) Next up, the Seepferd Wildsauer! Prost!
