Copenhagen 3/8 2024. 33 cl paper-wrapped bottle from Rewe, Süderquerweg, Hamburg. An old amphibious aeroplane with a lot of propellers on the paper wrapping.
Pours murky amber with a big white head. A bit bubbly. Settles as thin patch of foam stretching to cover the surface of the beer. Clinging to the sides of the glass. Moderate lacing.
Aroma is fairly intense with a fairly strange odor of candy shop with a floral touch. Sweet cough drops with mint. Eucalyptus, spruce and a touch of soap. Whiff of citrus.
Strong carbonation. Slightly thick, oily, lively and tingling texture. A bit fizzy.
Flavor is medium intense with a medium strong sweetness followed by a stronger bitternes. Light touch of mint. Aftertaste is sweet with a bit of alcohol. Lingers for a while. Finish is fairly dry.
DIPA with a fresh minty yet a bit sugary touch.

Poured from the bottle into the Insel Brauerei glass, it pours a hazy amber color with a lovely off-white head that initially fills the glass and then subsides to a nice layer and leaves lacing. In the nose, it is yeasty with citrus notes. The mouth gets a New England style Double IPA flavor profile with citrus notes and a malt based flavor.

330 ml paper-wrapped bottle, from Voldby Købmandsgård. ABV is 7.5%. Slightly hazy deep golden to orange colour, large white head. Intense aroma of fruity hops, but not citric / tropical, more of dark fruits and berries, also distinct sprucetips and pine needles. Yeasty notes too. The flavour is not very sweet, but has some hints of orange marmalade, also sprucetips and pine needles. Moderate bitterness, fairly well balanced.

330ml Bottle picked up at Berlin Schoenefeld airport (€4):
A clear, almost caramel amber with a 2cm, foamy head that's creamy white with good retention. The nose is sharp with pine hops & bitter notes but little else. The taste was mainly citrus & pine hops, better than the nose at least with some caramel sweetness, grapefruit & subtle tropical fruits at the end. It was strong but not overpowering, the alcohol content was fairly well hidden & it was easy to drink for the style but not one worth going hunting for.

Pours a cloudy, deep golden amber coloration with a medium, frothy head. Smell is quite soapy, with some caramel malt and tropical fruit notes coming through as well. Taste follows the nose, being quite floral and soapy, with astrong bubble gum character and some caramel malt and tropical/citrus hop notes of grapefruit and pineapple coming through as well. Finishes quite sweet, with very little discernible bitterness and a soapy aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation.
This is just terribly balanced, way too sweet, floral and soapy, without any real bitterness and artificial, bubble gum fruitiness.
