I visited Commonwealth Brewing on 10/08/23. They had around 30 beer options available. The beers we tried were very good.
They also have food, mostly bar type food and pizza. We didn’t order pizza, but they looked really good.
I will say that their staff were great. In you find yourself in VA Beach, it’s definitely worth a stop.

Stopped by on Veteran's day to a healthy crowd. Set up is nice with ample community seating. Great for having a pint and being able to hold a conversation or play a game. Selection is varied and quality overall. A little hazy IPA heavy but that is what is in vogue. Service was excellent and attentive. Bartenders were very welcoming. No real gripes. Plenty of taps and can pours as well which I think is a nice touch. Take away cans and bottles. Growler fills as well. Merchandise selection is varied and well displayed. Would absolutely visit again.

Commonwealth Brewing Co. is my favorite Virginia Beach brewery based on their beers. The space itself is nice looking, but it's not much different than many brewery tasting rooms these days. There's a long bar, and picnic tables for you to sit at, and they have some crowlers and larger bottles ready to go in a fridge, or they can fill you a fresh crowler or growler when you're ready to go. They do some events as well, and the crowd is generally cool - as is usually the case at breweries. What makes this one special is the beer, end of story.

A restored fire house with a lot of cool wooden tables/chairs, this is a very inviting place to have a beer or two . They have a good amount of beers on tap divided between Belgian style and traditional American. Commonwealth has a strong focus on IPAs as they had 4 on draft when we visited. Beers were solid across the board at a minimum, with the traditional saison and a tropical New England style IPA being favorites for me. Service was very friendly. Overall, a very nice addition to the VA beach craft beer scene.

Went during opening weekend which was Labor Day weekend so place was packed and wait staff was prompt and courteous as they could be. Lots of chic's beach/locals so real laid back/chill vibe. The problem, in my opinion, is the layout is a giant concrete cement block so noise just bounced around and my wife and I had to scream at each other to be heard. Of the six beers I tried I have the following comments. Without a doubt the best bang for your buck flight of beers you can have. This brewery is going to be one to watch as they offered a Belgian pale, a saison and an imperial hefe on opening weekend; this brewery is making craft beer drinkers beer and not just going the pale ale/amber ale/DIPA route. That being said, the beers I had were hit and miss with the experimentation. Coincidentally, the two IPAs they made were great. This place is worth visiting multiple times.
