Notes via stream of consciousness: OK, so this is a Berliner weisse with cranberry, chipotle, and maple. Seriously? That's why I had to try it. Whoa, so I wasn't it to be pink. It's a hazy pink in color with a light orange sheen beneath a short head of bright white foam. It looks good, it's just a bit surprising, but I guess that makes sense as it's got cranberry juice in it. It smells... well, not like too much. I get some berry, and a bit of maple but not much else. Oh, wait, there's some smokiness and pepper in there as well... does that cover everything? Yes, OK! That doesn't make it great but it's something. On to the flavor... well, I guess everything is represented here as well so there's that. It's lightly tart, and then you get the cranberry flavor which quickly mixes with the chipotle. The chipotle doesn't seem to give any heat though, it's just a little smoky and peppery. The maple immediately jumps in behind that and then lingers into the finish, which is surprisingly clean and dry. It comes together a lot better than I thought it would, and yet at the same time it remains in pieces. That's OK I guess. The question is, do these flavors inspire? Do they excite? I'm not sure. Or at least they're not really working that well for me. I do kind of like the little bit of burn left on the lips though. So let's finish up. It's light-medium in body and gently effervescent and crisp. It's not too weird that you can't drink it, and the sweetness of the maple syrup (or is it a flavoring?) lingering is nice. I don't think I'd go back for another though, but that could be just me.
