Muted raspberry on the nose, which tastes somehow dry and artificial on the palate. Bitter dark chocolate throughout, not quite the sweetness I would associated with devil's food cake. Fairly thin for 13% ABV. Enjoyable, but not on par with other similar beers like Claire's Thirsty Ale from Haymarket.
