Servied in an imperial pint glass. Freshly tapped to boot.

From the tap, which sizzles nicely (like frying bacon) coming from the nitro tap, it looks almost black if it were not for the simple fact that this beer displays some of the coolest cascading I've ever seen. It's like the beer it poured in reverse or upside down, where all the foam forms under the head then settles into a cap instead of the other way around. When the glass is finally handed to me, I am left with a dark black beer with brown highlights (like the colored of a well used football) and topped with a thick, creamy, sandy white sheet of a head. I also wouldn't call what this beer leaves behind lacing, its more like sheeting, all the way around and down the glass. Aromatics are subdued, everything is tied into a blanket of creamy roastiness with a slight coffee kick. Taste doesn't knock you out of your socks, mild and drinkable as it should be. Nice roasted maltiness, slight bit of coco powder and negligable hop bitterness. This beer was meant to be drunk easily and boy howdy is it ever.

(Served in an American pint glass)

A- This beer has a black body with a thick creamy head that is light tan. No signs of light through the body and the head lasts the entire drink.

S- The smell of dry roasted malts and dark roasted malts with a hint of cream at the finish were very fresh smells. No black roasted grains or coffee smells.

T- This beer has a fresh dry dark roasted malt flavor with a slight tangy finish. As it warms there is a bit of earthiness to the malts but the flavors are very smooth with no black roasted grain flavors.

M- The mouthfeel is full and creamy.

D- This is a very smooth and drinkable well-built dry stout. It would be nice to see some of the black roasted grain but this is still a good session beer.
